The Wee Small Hours

January 26, 2010

Artist Update:

Sorry folks, I’m a day behind. I spent the weekend learning Inkscape and vectorising icons (go here). But a shiny new episode will be yours in the next forty-eight hours!

Artist:

It’s excrutiatingly fitting that I finished this strip in the wee small hoursĀ  after spending the last six hours attending on fretting daughter every twenty minutes or so. I mean, what else are you going to do at 4am other than colour in pictures on the computer? She has, I believe, an ear infection. Probably mild, but probably fairly painful judging from the night we’ve just had.

So I face every parent’s dilemma following a sleepless night – do I (a) get ready now and go to work, (b) crash on the sofa and hope she sleeps for a couple of hours now the night-time trauma seems to be over or (c) give up, curl up with her on the sofa so we can cough out lungs up in tandem and wait for this virus to go away?

It’s not the first interrupted night’s sleep in the past five days, but it’s the worst. Give it a few more days, and my dreams’ll be wandering the landscape of their own accord…

Writer:

Another great interpretation of my script. :) Out of the two of us I think sometimes think I have the easier job, which means I’m doubly grateful for all the hours my artist puts in. I certainly can’t draw like this. Stay tuned, plenty more scripts are waiting in the wings to be given the graphics package treatment!
